It’s officially Women’s Month! 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼If you’re a woman, declare proudly: “I AM EXCEPTIONAL.”In the month of March to inspire inclusion, I will be focusing on women’s mental health, among other things. #inspireinclusion Women’s mental health can be influenced by many factors, especially hormones, which often fluctuate throughout their lifespan: puberty, adolescence, monthly cycles, pregnancy, menopause, etc.Women are more likely to suffer from abuse, trauma, body shaming, and other societal pressures that often impact their mental well-being, and it is important to shed light on this and create awareness to educate women.Ladies, are you ready?Tag three women! Let’s make the most of Women’s Month this March! That said, what topics would you like me to discuss?Be INTENTIONAL about your MENTAL HEALTH.©️Much Love,Your favourite mental fitness coach.||Transforming lives through mental resilience training||

This week serves as a reminder of the importance of prioritizing both physical and mental health in women's lives. Here are some key aspects of mental health care for women that we want to highlight:Self-Care Is Vital. Women often juggle multiple roles and responsibilities, which can take a toll on their mental health. It's crucial for women to prioritize self-care and carve out time for activities that promote relaxation and rejuvenation.Additionally, normalize seeking support. Women may face unique mental health challenges related to hormonal fluctuations, pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause. It's essential to normalize seeking professional support for these issues and empower women to prioritize their mental health without guilt or shame. Therapy, counseling, and support groups can provide valuable resources and assistance during difficult times. This Women's Health Week, let's come together to raise awareness about the importance of mental health care for women and advocate for policies and resources that support women's well-being. Together, we can create a world where all women have the opportunity to thrive mentally, emotionally, and physically.💪🌟#WomensHealthWeek #MentalHealthMatters #EmpowerWomen #ModernMePsychology

The latest report on maternal mental health reveals the U.S. is still failing to adequately support new mothers, earning a D+ overall. It's deeply frustrating to see that our country is still failing to adequately address the mental health needs of so many. It's unacceptable that 29 states received D's and F's, leaving countless mothers struggling in silence. This means a ton of moms are struggling with postpartum depression, anxiety, and other mental health challenges – and they're not getting the support they deserve. As the founder of Mainline Maternity Care, a company built on 30+ years of experience supporting new mothers, this news is devastating. It's a painful reminder of the broken systems that fail to prioritize maternal well-being.Every mom deserves compassionate, accessible care, not just for their physical health, but for their mental and emotional health too.At Mainline Maternity Care, we're committed to changing this narrative, filling the gaps in care, advocating for better policies, and building a stronger community of support for ALL mothers. What are your thoughts on this? Read more about this here: https://lnkd.in/gXtbpiP6#maternalhealth #womenhelpingwomen #mainlinematernitycare #baltimore #maternalmentalhealth

This May, we recognize and honour #MaternalMentalHealth Month - a dedicated time to bring awareness, break the stigma, and open conversations surrounding maternal mental health issues.Pregnancy and the postpartum period could be a time of vulnerability for many women, with 1 in 5 experiencing mood and anxiety disorders. Yet, these issues often remain unaddressed due to stigma, lack of awareness, and limited access to appropriate care. Maternal mental health matters - not just for expecting and new mothers but for entire families and the broader community. Early detection and treatment of mental health issues can lead to improved health outcomes for mothers, children, and families. As professionals, let's prioritize maternal mental health in our workplaces, empathetically support our colleagues navigating this journey, and spread awareness to enact systemic change. Encourage an environment where parenthood is understood and mental well-being is valued as much as any physical health issues. Remember, it's okay to ask for help and it's critical to offer help when we can. Each of us has a role to play.#MaternalMentalHealthMonth #EndTheStigma #MaternalMentalHealthAwareness

Navigating the Tough Journey of MotherhoodAs joyful as motherhood is, it can come with unexpected challenges—the hardest sometimes being our mental health. With 1 in 10 women facing postpartum depression, it's concerning that half aren't diagnosed or supported. But hope is on the horizon, thanks to Novant Health's dedicated efforts. Real stories like Stephanie Meyer's, struggling with anxiety and panic attacks after her son's birth, shed light on this critical health issue. For all the changes and choices we encounter in this period, we have different professional expertise to help us. Did you know that around 1 in 7 women experience postpartum depression (PPD) after giving birth? In the US alone, that's nearly 600,000 moms each year struggling with PPD.While the "baby blues" are common, PPD is a more serious condition that can last for months and significantly impact a new mom's ability to function. What's even more concerning is that: rates of PPD are on the rise. Studies show a disturbing increase from 2010 to 2021:* White women: 13.5% to 21.8% (an increase of 60%)* Hispanic women: 8.9% to 18.8% (a 110% increase)* Black women: 9.2% to 22.0% (a 140% increase)The stigma surrounding mental health and the pressure to appear happy with a new baby prevents moms from seeking help, and sometimes they are not even aware. But here is the truth: PPD is treatable, and 80% of women with PPD make a full recovery. The fact is that we can't afford to be silent any longer. So, If you are a mom reading this, we would love to hear your thoughts and experiences. And remember, the power of community is undeniable. In fact, Myri itself was born from this very need – a community. There is value in sharing lived experiences, so our newer moms feel less alone. Although mental health awareness month is coming to an end, we should also keep this dialogue open. At Myri, we want to provide safe and supported spaces to do exactly that.
